Nathan Jenden Leaves DvF
(NEW YORK) Diane von Furstenberg’s right-hand man and creative director Nathan Jenden is leaving her house after nearly 10 years with the company, the designer announced today. His last show with von Furstenberg will take place on February 14. "This show is really a celebration of Nathan and I, and of our collaboration," von Furstenberg said. "It's sad because we are going apart, even though we are staying close, and exciting because he is going to do his thing and focus on it."
"I have given so much of myself to Diane," Jenden said, "and Diane has given so much of herself to me, and I felt I really wanted to concentrate on Nathan Jenden, and that it was important in my commitment to Diane to be honest about that. Diane has taught me so many different things.” Jenden, who has designed an eponymous collection since 2005 in addition to his Nathan Jenden eyewear collection, will present his own Fall 2010 show in London on February 22.
Succeeding Jenden at DvF will be Yvan Mispelaere, who has worked under Pheobe Philo at Chloé and Frida Giannini at Gucci. This will be Mispelaere’s first creative director role; his first collection for Diane von Furstenberg will bow for Spring 2011.
