Aquascutum Designers Resign
(NEW YORK) Just over a week after presenting their Fall 2010 collection in London, Aquascutum designers Graeme Fidler and Michael Herz have handed in their resignations. Though the designers themselves have yet to comment on their sudden departure, reports indicated that the duo is interested in exploring new projects. "They've had a great time at the brand, but they want to move on, and we fully understand that," said the brand’s chief executive, Belinda Earl. "We wish them well, and the situation is amicable." Herz has been with Aquascutum since 2000, while Filder came on board in 2001.
As far as replacements for the designers, Earl said that the current design team would step up and that replacements would be named eventually. "They are working out their notice period,” she said, “so for now, it's business as usual. We're very confident about the future of Aquascutum, and we're planning to expand the business through wholesale, retail, licenses and franchising."
