Halston's NYFW Return Next Year
(NEW YORK) In the midst of making that NYFW Fall 2012 list and checking it twice, here's a runway return to add to next February's schedule: Halston will be back in action on the New York catwalk circuit next February.
Expect a full array of accessories to complement the togs, including handbags from Anita Jansens-Malka, BCBG alum and wife of the company's chairman and CEO, Ben Malka. Although the accoutrements have been announced, a creative director for the label has yet to be determined. The brand's big runway-fueled redux next year follows a tumultuous end to 2011, after Halston parted ways with execs, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Bonnie Takhar, Tamara Mellon, and Harvey Weinstein, plus designer Marios Schwab. "Anything that goes wrong can be fixed. For me this is about doing something we can all be proud of," Malka told WWD.
Malka was appointed to the helm of Halston in July, shortly after decamping from BCBG with intent to retire. The exec has since relocated Halston's operations to L.A., including its more accessible, contemporary-priced Heritage line, which will be presented tomorrow in NYC.
