Levi’s, William Rast Go High-Low
(NEW YORK) William Rast may be the latest fashion label to get democratic by pairing with mass retailer Target on exclusive men’s and women’s collections (available in December), but another denim-centric brand is going the opposite route. Levi’s is partnering with Brooks Brothers for a men’s denim collection, Levi’s Jeans, Made in the USA for Brooks Brothers, which is available in stores and online today. “For generations, nothing has conveyed the image of iconic American style more than a pair of Levi’s jeans worn with a Brooks Brothers button-down shirt,” said Brooks Brothers chief merchandising officer Lou Amendola. “With our exclusive jeans collection we have created something that is both authentic and timeless. It is our shared commitment to quality and craftsmanship combined with equal measures of innovation and tradition which have allowed both brands to stand the test of time.”
The collection, made entirely in L.A., consists of three styles in a range of washes: the classic 501, the 505 (a zip-fly version of the 501), and the 514 Slim Straight Jean. While Levi’s brand 501s range from about $60-$80, each will retail at Brooks Brothers for $148. This isn’t the first partnership for the iconic denim brand: Levi’s also has a selection of 501s for J. Crew, which range from the vintage selvedge 1947 Brain Dead jean (which retails for $325) to more basic styles that sell for $98.
