Fall 2012: Z Spoke by Zac Posen
(NEW YORK) Z Spoke by Zac Posen
Z Spoke’s PYT got a double dose of saccharine separates and flouncy Warholian frocks for Spring, but this season, the designer switched gears to present a decidedly grown-up collection bursting with nine-to-fivers. "I love bringing our signature seaming and construction into Z Spoke. It’s about luxury and sophistication at the most competitive and accessible price points," shared Zac Posen. First up? The new, and deliciously nubby, tweed crop jackets, paired perfectly with any number of Posen's high-waisted wide-leg trousers, ballooning skirting, and smart silk blouses in an office-worthy color palette. A handful of nineties pieces from slasher sweaters featuring cut-outs down the sleeves to floral skirts circa Reality Bites added edge to the ultra-femme line-up but it was the bevy of body-con happy hour dresses and elegant floor-sweepers (nipped at the waist, of course) that really gave the Z Spoke collection its apropos title: "American Sportswear at Midnight."
