(NEW YORK) Surely you've been waiting with bated breath for the title of The New York Observer's upcoming glossy, to be helmed by Peter Davis. The wait is over! Look out for SCENE to hit newsstands soon. Expect the mag to canvass fashion, art, lifestyle, and celebrity culture, "sort of like an edgy W/Interview" according to one enthused and recently appointed staffer.

The staffing up of SCENE—beyond the cadre of AVENUE alums, like publisher Julie Dannenberg and creative director Cricket Burns—seems to be well underway. The Observer has taken on Benjamin-Emile Le Hay, who will serve as men's fashion market editor at the new mag. He will also serve in several other capacities, including assistant managing editor for seven special issues the Observer cranks out, from The Educated Observer to Brooklyn Living to YUE, the Chinese/English luxury mag, plus managing editor for parenting offshoot, Scooter. Hit Le hay up for freelancing opps (he wants more!) and look out for him at the Tents and soirees of NYFW, which he's covering for the Observer as well. Whew!

Observer editrix Elizabeth Spiers wasn't available for comment; nor was Davis. Stay tuned for more updates on SCENE as the glossy goss unfolds.
