Spring 2012: Elie Saab
(PARIS) Elie Saab
Later, Paris! Lebanese sensation Elie Saab closed the whirlwind of Parisian runway shows today in true Saab style--with a steady stream of polished red carpet gowns in apricot, sapphire, opal, and emerald. An apropos palette for a collection entitled "Color Shock," non? The Oscar-worthy assemblage, witnessed by Princess B in the front row, flourished with lace cutouts, dazzling sequins, and an accordion of pleats. Headlining the parade: 70s-ish filmy chiffon gowns with daring slits (not to mention the down-to-there backs) and flowing Dallas-worthy creations festooned with all-over sparkles. To off-set the barrage of high-octane glamour, and court his elite lunching crowd, Saab served up a quietly luxurious tweed jacket, a surprising blue jumpsuit, and tailored shifts plucked straight from the 50s. Annnnd....that's a wrap, chéris!
